Ruovesi is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 5,104 (31 December 2009)2 and covers an area of 950.15 square kilometres (366.85 sq mi) of which 173.96 km2 (67.17 sq mi) is water.1 The population density is 6.58 inhabitants per square kilometre (17.0 /sq mi).
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
Helvetinjärvi National Park is located in Ruovesi.
